The 7th Kochi International Triennial Exhibition of Prints 2008

Michael Goro’s work was presented with a Fourth Prize. Out of 3,196 entries from 77 countries submitted only 195 were selected for the show.

Goro's work has a real charm with the black ink on the paper. It is an appealing work that can never be attained by plain drawing.”

Akira Tatehata
[Judging Panel] Director The National Museum of Art

“The artist describes the image firmly and draws charming lines peculiar to cooper plates. This type of artist is becoming fewer today. I like this work because the artist didn’t use any easy tricks. This has the charm of orthodox cooper plates.”

Katsuhiko Yokoyama
[Judging Panel] Vise-Director, Nerima Art Museum

“There are a few American artists who exclusively print. This artist has his own world of pictures, and does printing as well. His plate-making techniques are excellent.”

Keisei Kobayashi
